Back on land after their epic undersea adventure (The Lost Continent), Flash, Dale and Dr. Zarkov look forward to a quiet stroll in the park, but their quiet pastime is interrupted when they and several other surrounding bodies start making involuntarily anti-gravitational jumps. Before anyone can react, Flash and Dale are drawn up to space, suddenly enveloped by life-preserving spaceships and drawn to a mysterious planet in the Coma Berenices constellation.
