Coming across a cryptic reference to a Witch of Kula-Ku in his great-grandfather's chronicles, the Phantom asks Mozz to complement the bare details. The latter informs that the witch's reign starts beyond the river of fire and the wall of ice, and adds that the Phantom's ancestors were wise not to investigate the matter closely. Deaf to repeated warnings from the Bandar, the Phantom travels to the forbidden area and manages to traverse the treacherous river of fire, but loses control and cascades down the wall of ice into the complete unknown.
