Still walking around as Mr. Walker in the desert, the Phantom comes across a distressed woman who claims to have been abducted by large hawks and subsequently returned to her car wreckage. When a cowboy nearby relates the same kind of experience and there is nothing linking the two victims apart from the stark, cold-coloured clothes they are wearing, the Phantom dresses for the occasion and waits until a number of hawks start appearing on the horizon.
