Conan, Madame X'arthalla, Nadia, noble CXhamberlain, advisor Yernax, Gonek.
Conan rides by a river where many naked young women are enjoying a bath. One girl in particular, Nadia, gives Conan a certain token that will gain him access to the Palace of Madam X'arthalla, a famous house of pleasure in Shadizar. Reaching Shadizar, the Cimmerian enlists in the king's guard. Weeks later, he decides to pay Nadia a visit at Madam X'arthalla's palace. We learn that the Zamorian upper class enjoys all sorts of kinky activities. Madam X'arthalla can change her appearance to please wealthy patrons. On a hunt, the Cimmerian saves the king’s life and the grateful monarch makes Conan his bodyguard. Conan is then visited in his room by X'arthalla, who hypnotizes him. He is jailed for attempted regicide and next slated for execution. He survives and returns to Shadizar, convinced that Madam X'arthalla will repeat her attempt on the king's life. At X'arthalla's place Conan rescues a few nobles, and bursts in the room where the king is to be found just in time to keep him from being assassinated.
