Conan, Muriela, Thutmekri, Jamankh's mate and son, the goddess Nebethet, king of Punt.
Conan plans to use the dancing girl Muriela to impersonate the Puntian goddess Nebethet. There is the matter of gaining access to an old sacred place where the white-skinned oracle is supposed to be found; this time around, we have an old crone and her monstorus son (born of her union with a demon) serving as a secondary threat. The Stygian Thutmekri is trying to get the king of Punt to get rid of Conan. Conan finally kills Thutmekri. Unfortunately, Conan plans collapse when the real Nebethet possesses Muriela. Conan abandons Muriela to her fate as a goddess's garment
Notes: Conan is roughly 38 at this time. Thutmekri had been a scheming trader/smuggler/slaver/con artist in CtB#28 and CtB#108 and SSoC#25. A sequel to "The teeth of Gwahlur".
