Hit by a small meteor in space, Colonel Conley's U.S. spacecraft subsequently falls silently into the Indian Ocean, where it is intercepted by a rag-tag band of failed pirates in a rusty amphib. The gang swiftly "saves" the astronaut and demand a ransom for his safe return. Following the developments from nearby Eden, the Phantom commands a Wambesi war canoe in an effort to save the Colonel. A dramatic and memorable standoff in the town harbour involving a decrepit amphib, a modern war fleet and a trusted jungle canoe is about to take place.
