Roxxon President John Gamelin watches from home as the transformed Tarantula, mentally controlled by Wisp, threatens James Melvin. Tarantula devolves beyond Wisp's ability to control him and wants to eat Melvin. Tarantula, horrified that he has now become a fully morphed giant spider, commits suicide by leaping off a building.
