Red Sonja learns of a magical event occurring in a forest near the tavern where she’s having a drink: a shining stairwell that connects heaven and earth. She decides to investigate. There she finds a very beautiful man speaking an alien tongue. He is smitten with the beauty of Sonja and effortlessly defeat her in battle. She refuses to take the man as her lover. He is an angel of some kind and the stairwell drags him forcibly back to the sky.
