The story begins with Lucky Luke agreeing to lead a cattle drive from Austin, Texas to Silver City, New Mexico. Lucky Luke travels through Langtry, home of self-appointed judge Roy Bean. A crook and a cheat who invents laws, Bean arrests Luke as a cattle thief and confiscates his herd. Frustrated by the bizarre trial that the judge conducts in his own saloon, Luke escapes. But the judge doesn't count on the arrival of another crooked judge named Bad Ticket and his intention on poaching the old man's game. The even more crooked judge attempt to set up his court in the same town. Lucky help both sides to even the score. It will be up to our favorite cowboy to sort it out and bring real law west of the Pecos River at last. Unsung side-kick of the Judge is Jacinto, a diminutive Mexican, who lightens up several details of the story. |
