Reunited with the Space Kids on his birthday, Flash is invited to accompany them in their new spacecraft to visit Mr Pennington and young Cyril in distant Zorania. However, on arrival it soon becomes clear that the entire population is on the run from a vicious menace called 'the Vulcan' and that the only way for Flash to safeguard the progress the planet has made under Mr Pennington is to leave the walled city and take up the challenge.
