Conan, fresh off his career as leader of the desert-dwelling Zuagirs enters a town being sacked by raiders and rescues the slave girl Zuleika. Conan and Zuleika travel to Castle Crimson, which is being run by an old friend, his erstwhile commander Malthom. Zuleika bears a striking resemblance to the daughter of a certain sheik who, three years before, had sent her to be married to a powerful local lord, one Khelru Shan, to cement an alliance. Only the girl had disappeared. Conan travels to the castle of Khelru-Shan to tell him he knows the location of his abducted bride. He leads Khelru-Shan back to the Crimson Castle to convince him he has his abducted bride. Malthom reveals that he has fallen in love with the strong-willed Zuleika. Mordek steals Zuleika from the Crimson Castle and opens the gate for the forces of Khelru-Shan. The abductor hadn't gone far, and the Cimmerian sees him making his way towards the castle's dungeons. Mordek hides where the bodies of those he betrayed twenty years earlier are left to rot. The skeletons come to life and begin their revenge. Khelru-Shan's army is destroyed and the truth behind Zuleika's past is revealed. |
