Conan, The Yggdar clan, Osiiren clan, Osiiren king, their prince, Kamali (the prince’s woman).
Conan rides in the snow-covered Cimmerian hills and finds himself lost in the hills. He comes across a ransacked fort, the one remaining living soldier gives Conan a locket before he expires. A rider approaches, expressing surprise that Conan is from neither the Yggdar or Osiiren clans. Conan shows him the locket, the man explains that it belongs to his fiancé, who was taken by the Yggdar. The king of the Osiiren tells Conan how the two tribes warred for control of the valley for ages. Conan and the Osiiren prince return to the valley to find his beloved. The girl is slain. The main Yggdar forces have attacked the castle. Conan agrees to help get revenge, and the two head toward the Yggdar's caves.
