When Captain Demo, a surface-world pirate operating underwater, attacks Atlantis, Aquaman first battles him, then, inexplicably, gives in to him. Unknown to the Atlanteans, Aquaman has surrendered because Demo has planted bombs around Atlantis and has threatened to ignite them with a radio signal from his hook-hand if opposed.
