Informasjon/Beskrivelse Conan, Xaltotun of Acheron Amalric, Tarascus, Valerius, Tiberias; Pallantides; Hadrathus; Trocero; Zenobia (cameo).

Conan has managed to raise a new army composed of Pointainians and other citizens who were spoiled by Valerius' new rule. Xaltotun proposes to use magic to provoke rainstorms that will cause certain rivers to flood and keep Conan's forces from moving, however, a while later he realizes that his mighty magic failed. At the same time, a bedraggled individual offers to lead the conspirators' troops in an ambush. The conspirators jump on the occasion, but find themselves in a narrow canyon. The "traitor" reveals himself to be one of many broken Aquilonians. Meanwhile, Conan marches to engage the Nemedian army. Xaltotun is faced by Hadrathus, priest of Asura and Conan. The Heart of Ahriman makes them impervious to the Acheronian's magic, and kill him. Defeating the Nemedian king in single combat, Conan puts an end to the war. Conan is asked what he will demand as ransom for the Nemedian king: he replies that the harem girl who helped him escape his enemies's dungeon, Zenobia.

Conan is about 45 during these events. This was the second time Conan had lost his throne; his lack on an heir made his position more vulnerable.
This was the final word of Robert E. Howard on Conan; from a letter we know that Conan would wage many wars and eventually explore the western ocean, but his marriage per se and all the stuff about his children (Conn, Taurus and Radegund) are pastiche material. Two sequels to this story would be published later on: in Conan the barbarian annual #4 and #5.
