King Conan, count Trocero, Prospero, lady Radegund, Leonidas, Baron Maloric, Prince Taurus, Queen Zenobia, Black Dragons [Captain Tarquin,], Trocero's father, Ghord, Borkus, Thoth-Amon, Countess Amanda.
An aging and tired Count Trocero is returning to his home in Poitain, and suffers from disturbing dreams from his past. King Conan, believing his eldest son, Conn, dead, grows restless in his role as king, and Zenobia fears he may leave Tarantia soon. Prospero tests new recruits who wish to become Black Dragon legionnaires. Taurus finds a love note sent from Leonidas to Radegund. Once home, Trocero is reunited with his aged father, who can no longer remember his son, and with Amanda, the woman he fell in love with many years ago.
