Mastermind makes the X-Men believe that Cyclops and then Maddie are Dark Phoenix. Mastermind reveals himself to Madelyne torturing her by making himself look like Scott. Cyclops announces to the X- men he knows its an illusion. Storm know the enemy is in the mansion and summons up a monsoon. Mastermind has been blown back into a wall and is unconscious. Cyclops and Madelyne are married.
