Informasjon/Beskrivelse |
Conan, Hobb, captain Hermios, witchmen of Hyperborea, Torumjumala (warlock), Vammatar (witch- queen of Hyperborea), Crypt-Keepers.
Conan and Hobb are in a tavern in a city on the Road of Kings. A jade snake in a cage is hanging from the ceiling. Conan tells the soldiers inn the inn that he found the snake in the lost city of Lanjau. Among the ruins they find dead soldiers from the rival city, but the corpses are completely purple. Some priests threaten to cause the purple plague that killed the other soldiers, but Conan recognizes them as Hyperborean sorcerers in the service of the witch Vammatar. The witches use their magic and reanimate the corpses while resurrecting the skeleton guardians of the city. The witches order the skeletons to retrieve their jade snake. When the group of soldiers return to the city, they fall ill. Conan takes refuge inside a temple of Mithras, just as he begins to notice the symptoms of the purple plague.
