Returning to New York after the dramatic events surrounding the Skorpi invasion (The Matter Transmitter), a devastated Flash is told by Dale that their relationship is over and that she is going to marry another man, Steve Benton. Having watched Dale drive off with her fiancé, a deflated and confused Flash accidentally ends up on a pleasure satellite, where he is drawn into a dangerous youth culture of fast and careless living where death can snatch you away at any moment. Later he rescue a wounded Rhea Joyce and bring her back to the hospital.
